taxifi inc. ("taxifi", "we", "us") provides accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services to incorporated Canadian businesses. We are headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable Canadian privacy law.
What we collect
- Contact information you provide when you book a call, contact us, or sign up for communications: name, email address, phone number, and business name.
- Client information needed to deliver our services once you engage us: financial records, banking and transaction data accessed through read-only connections you authorize, payroll information for your employees, and the tax information required to prepare your filings.
- Website usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies when analytics or advertising tools are active on this site.
How we use it
- To deliver the services you engage us for, including bookkeeping, payroll processing, HST returns, and corporate tax filings.
- To communicate with you about your file, your bookings, and our services.

We do not sell personal information. We collect only what we need for the purposes above, and we obtain consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information except where the law permits or requires otherwise.

We disclose information only as needed to deliver our services and meet our obligations: to the Canada Revenue Agency and other authorities as you authorize, to service providers who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations, and where disclosure is required by law. Employees and contractors of taxifi access client information only as required to do their work.
Safeguards
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, access controls, and read-only financial account connections that we cannot use to move money. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we treat your financial data with the care you would expect from an accounting firm.
Retention
We retain client records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal and professional record-keeping requirements, which for accounting and tax records is generally six years. When information is no longer required, we destroy it securely.
