Version 2 · Opens November 17, 2026

Know what your business made today.
And what’s already spoken for.

Money in, minus money out, through this morning. Bookkeeping and taxes beside it, because they’re the same story. An accountant signs the filings.

A note from the founder

The bank balance was never the real number

I got laid off in 2014 and started doing books for small business owners. For years, every client asked me the same thing: “David, how am I doing?”

What they meant was: how much of this is actually mine? Part of the balance was HST owed to the CRA. Part was corporate tax coming at year-end. Part was payroll remittances. One figure, three things quietly owed against it.

My answer was always “give me a couple of weeks.” By the time the report landed, it was a month old and the tax picture was still a guess. That’s why I built taxifi, and version 2 is the first time I feel like we’ve answered the question.

What’s in version 2

Five things, one screen

  • Today’s numberProfit through this morning, the month so far, the year so far. No report to pull.
  • Taxes beside itHST, corporate tax and payroll remittances tracked against the same books, so “what’s mine” is one glance away.
  • Ask TaxifiAsk a plain-English question. It answers from books that were reconciled today, not a spreadsheet from last week.
  • Our own ledgerTransactions come in, get categorized from your bank and card feeds and reconciled in the back end. Cash-basis, built for incorporated Canadian businesses.
  • Signed by an accountantA Canadian accountant reviews the month, files HST and payroll, and signs the T2.
