Best Online Accounting Firms for Canadian Corporations (2026)
A short disclosure before the list: taxifi is on it. So the method is the only thing that makes this page worth reading. Every firm below serves incorporated businesses across Canada online, and every fact about a firm comes from that firm’s own website, read on October 16, 2026, and quoted where it matters — who they say they serve, what they say they do, what they publish about price, and what they offer as proof. Where a site does not say something, the table says “not stated” rather than guessing. Judgments about fit are ours and are labelled as such.
The list is alphabetical. The section after the table is the useful part: which firm fits which kind of corporation.

Everything in the table is quoted or paraphrased from each firm’s own site on October 16, 2026 (prices from each pricing page on October 15). “Not stated” means the site does not say. The links are in Sources. Price detail for every firm is on bookkeeping services in Canada: prices compared.
Which firm fits which corporation
Read the firms’ own descriptions of their clients and the list sorts itself. These are our judgments, built on what each site says.
- Under about $1M in revenue, and you want to see a price before a call: taxifi (from $199 AI-run or $299 accountant-reviewed, T2 from $1,000) or Avalon (from $350 with the corporate return included, BC-based). Both publish; both include an accountant in the loop at the $299–$350 level. Avalon’s site does not state whether it serves outside BC, so ask.
- $1M–$10M, and you want a controller as well as books: Zenbooks (Ottawa, $1,000–$2,500+ a month, 300 client accounts) and ConnectCPA (Toronto, 100+ staff, corporate tax in every package). Both serve Canada and the US.
- $3M–$15M, with or without a finance person of your own: LiveCA says that band is its ideal customer, at an average of $2,400 a month, and it works with corporations only.
- You already have an accountant for year-end and need only the monthly books: Enkel, from $1,000 a month, is the one firm here that is explicit about not filing year-end tax. Pairing it with your existing accountant is its model.
- Owner-managed but heading toward mid-market, with audit, valuation or cross-border needs: Sapere is the multi-service, CPA-led option; prices are by consultation.
What “online accounting firm” means, and what to check
Every firm on this list works without you visiting an office: bank and card feeds connect to cloud books, documents go through a portal, and meetings are video calls. Beyond that the firms differ in ways that matter more than the word “online”.
- Who signs the filings. A T2 must be prepared and filed by someone who takes responsibility for it. LiveCA, ConnectCPA, Avalon, Sapere, Zenbooks and taxifi all file corporate returns; Enkel does not. Ask who signs, and whether that person is the one who sees your books every month.
- Whose software it is. Most firms run your books in QuickBooks Online or Xero, which you may be required to subscribe to on top of the fee (Avalon is a Xero Platinum partner; Zenbooks was a 2026 Xero awards finalist). taxifi runs its own ledger, so there is no second subscription.
- Cash or accrual. Firms serving $1M+ companies keep accrual books with receivables and payables. taxifi keeps cash-basis books by design, which suits owner-run businesses and does not suit inventory-heavy or investor-reporting companies.
- How current the books are. Monthly close is the norm; the close date (the 10th, the 15th) is usually in the package description. taxifi reconciles daily, which is the difference between knowing last month’s profit and knowing this morning’s.
- Where the team is. LiveCA and Zenbooks state “100% Canadian” staffing; Sapere lists offices in Dubai, Lahore and the UK alongside Canada; others do not say. If this matters to you, ask.
- Province. “Across Canada” is true of corporate tax, which is federal plus provincial on one T2. Quebec corporations file a separate CO-17 with Revenu Québec; confirm the firm handles it before signing.
Where taxifi sits, honestly
taxifi is the newest firm on this list by a decade, the smallest by team, and the only one whose starting price is under $300 a month with an accountant reviewing and signing. It fits an incorporated owner-run business that wants published prices, daily cash-basis books, filings signed by an accountant, and no separate software bill. It does not fit a company that needs accrual accounting, inventory, investor reporting, audit or valuation work — for those, the firms above with controllership and advisory lines are the better call, and the table says which ones. If you are comparing on price, every taxifi price is on one page; if you are comparing on who the firm is for, the paragraph above is the answer.
Published prices, daily books, accountant-signed filings.
Bookkeeping from $199 a month, accountant-reviewed from $299, T2 from $1,000 a year — confirmed for your corporation on one 20-minute call.

Common questions
What is the best online accounting firm for a small corporation in Canada?
It depends on size and what you need filed. For an owner-run corporation under about $1M in revenue that wants a published price and an accountant signing the filings, taxifi (from $299 accountant-reviewed) and Avalon (from $350, BC) are the two on this list that publish prices at that level. For $1M–$10M companies that need controllership, Zenbooks, ConnectCPA and LiveCA describe that band as their customer. Each firm’s own description of its clients is in the table above.
Can an online accounting firm file my corporate T2 from any province?
Yes for the federal T2, which also carries most provinces’ corporate tax; it is filed electronically with the CRA and does not depend on where the firm sits. Quebec corporations also file a provincial CO-17 with Revenu Québec, and Alberta files an AT1 with Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration, so confirm the firm handles your province’s return. Of the firms here, Enkel does not file year-end tax at all.
How much do online accounting firms in Canada charge?
Among the firms on this list that publish prices, as read on October 15, 2026: taxifi from $199 a month (AI-run) or $299 (accountant-reviewed) with the T2 from $1,000 a year; Avalon from $350 a month with the corporate return included; Enkel from $1,000 a month for bookkeeping only; Zenbooks $1,000–$2,500+ a month; LiveCA $1,250–$3,000 a month with an average of $2,400. ConnectCPA publishes its amounts as images and Sapere quotes by consultation.
Is an AI accounting firm the same thing as an online accounting firm?
No. Every firm on this list is online. An AI accounting firm, which is what taxifi calls itself, runs the daily bookkeeping with its own software and puts the accountant’s time into reviewing, signing and advising rather than recording. The practical differences are price (the recording is no longer billed by the hour), how current the books are (daily rather than monthly), and the limits (cash-basis, no accrual). The other firms on this list run your books in QuickBooks Online or Xero with people doing the monthly work.
How do I switch accounting firms mid-year?
Give the new firm your last filed T2, the year-end financial statements, your CRA business number and RC59 authorization, and access to the bookkeeping file. The new firm takes over the books from the last reconciled month, and the outgoing firm is entitled to be paid for work done but must release your records. Most firms on this list, taxifi included, scope the catch-up before you commit. See switching accountants in Ontario for the step-by-step.
What should a corporation check before choosing an online firm?
Six things: who prepares and signs the T2; whether the monthly price includes it; whether you must pay for QuickBooks or Xero on top; cash or accrual books and the close date; where the team is located; and whether the firm’s own description of its typical client sounds like you. Every firm on this list answers most of those on its own site, and the table above records what each one says.
